Looking for help with our little boys
About Me
We’re a busy, friendly family with two lovely boys, and our home is full of laughter, love and the occasional bit of chaos. Our eldest son, Barnaby, has additional needs. He is non-verbal but communicates well in his own way, and he has been out of school due to health challenges. He is due to return to school in September, and we are looking for someone who can help him build his confidence with a few hours a week before then while I take on some flexible work myself. We are hoping that our ‘person’ will become a special friend both for him and our family, helping us out with some fixed hours but also offering some flexible availability.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who have experience supporting children with additional needs, or who are genuinely enthusiastic about learning and working in this area. B is the most cheeky and adorable little boy, and we are happy to fund training opportunities for the right person if they have the right attitude, patience and willingness to learn.
We have a lovely home with a big garden with a swing and trampoline, which is the boys’ happy place. We are happy to purchase resources to help our helper.
A love of dogs is also important, as our dog Bonnie may be around from time to time.
My Requirements
We are looking for a few hours a week daytime childcare support over summer, with future opportunity to support in holidays and after school. We are uncertain how much B will be able to attend school so there may be daytime opportunities from September onwards.
We would love to hear from someone who:
• Enjoys working with young children
?• Is warm, reliable and proactive
??• Has a good sense of humour and can adapt to the changing needs of family life
?• Has experience with additional needs, or is keen to develop experience in this area.
