About Me
We are a family of 4, my son (6y), my newborn daughter (2 months), my partner (French) and me (Colombian). We are a diverse, multicultural family who enjoys time being together and with family and friends. At home we speak French and Spanish, this is very important to us as we really want to be connected to our roots and make sure our children are able to communicate with the family abroad. My eldest son is now at school and is very happy to have become the big brother. He enjoy taking care of his sister and giving her hugs and kisses.
My son had the great chance of being taken cared off as a toddler by a friend who happened to be a Montessori teacher (during COVID). We learned a lot from this experience and have tried to apply many of the Montessori principles at home.
We are very friendly and social family people who love part of our community in East Finchley and who would really like to find someone here to take care now of our daughter.
My Requirements
We want to find a childminder who will take care of her and follow some/all of the Montessori principles. Indeed, we really like to find someone who enjoys being with children, understands them, helps them with their emotions/feelings and has clarity on how to set nicely boundaries/limits, while promoting their independence, development and safety.
We want someone who understands the important safety and safeguarding of our child.
We also would like to find someone that does heathy meals and promotes children to eat healthy, avoiding sugary snacks (as much a possible).
Further, we would like someone who takes children out, not just to the garden but to other spaces, like the woods. Someone who loves and takes care of nature and encourages this with children would be ideal.
Spanish or French are not mandatory, but if she/he speaks those languages this would be a great advantage for us.
We are also happy for our child to be with other children, as we know that a social environment will promote her development.
We would like to find someone to start working with us next year by May 2027 (4 days a week Tuesday -Friday 9:00/9:30 am to 5:00/6:00 pm- we may be able to change the Monday for Friday of needed).
