About Me

Hello! My name's Sarah-Jane. I'm originally from Poole (I went to Courthill First School, Baden Powell and then Parkstone Grammar School, where I was I was Head Girl). I then went on to train as a teacher in London, where I worked in an independent boys' school for a few years. I recently returned from a year teaching in Australia. Most recently, I was working in a maternity post as a primary teacher at an independent school in Poole, teaching Years 5 and 6. However, I've taught all ages from Reception-Year 6.

I've now decided to take a step back from the classroom and work self-employed. I'm looking to be a private tutor/babysitter/nanny/piano teacher - all of which I am very experienced in and have done for years around my work and studies.

I am kind, approachable and very caring. I have a good sense of humour and the ability to quickly build a positive and friendly rapport with children of all ages. In my experience, children flourish when they enjoy their time with you and feel respected, cared for and special, whilst knowing where the boundaries are.
