About Me
Hi!
I’m a caring, warm and experienced childcare professional with a background in nannying and midwifery. I’m an NHS registered midwife with a First Class Honours degree in Midwifery, and I bring a wealth of experience caring for newborns, babies, toddlers and older children, alongside a strong understanding of child development, wellbeing and individual needs.
My approach to childcare is flexible, nurturing and very much parent-led. I believe every family is different, and I’m happy to adapt to your routines, parenting style and preferences rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I really value open communication with parents and want you to feel confident that your wishes are understood and respected.
I’m particularly passionate about learning through play and creating an environment where children can explore, be curious and develop naturally through everyday experiences. Whether that’s getting outdoors, messy play, reading stories, arts and crafts, imaginative play, baking, exploring nature or simply following a child’s interests, I love finding ways to make everyday life fun and meaningful. I believe children learn best when they feel secure, happy and genuinely engaged.
I have experience caring for children of different ages and have also worked for the local authority supporting children in care. This has given me valuable experience providing consistent, nurturing and individualised care to children with a range of needs and backgrounds. I understand the importance of patience, consistency and taking the time to get to know each child as an individual.
I’m currently looking for a full-time or regular part-time childcare position with a family where I can build a strong, trusting relationship with both parents and children and become a valued part of their routine.
My midwifery background means I’m particularly confident with newborn and baby care, including supporting families through the early days, establishing healthy routines and caring for babies with confidence. I can also support with sleep routines, feeding, developmental milestones and the practical day-to-day challenges that come with caring for little ones. Equally, I love caring for older children and adapting activities and routines to suit their individual personalities, ages and interests.
Safety and wellbeing are always at the heart of my care. I’m fully DBS checked, hold a full and clean UK driving licence, and have Level 3 Safeguarding and Child Protection training, Paediatric First Aid and Life Support, as well as Neonatal Life Support qualifications.
I’m patient, dependable, organised and approachable, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust in your home. My experience in midwifery and working with children in care has taught me to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively and respond confidently to different situations and individual needs.
Above all, I genuinely love working with children. I want them to feel safe, listened to, encouraged and free to be themselves, while supporting parents in the way that works best for their family.
I would love the opportunity to become a reliable and trusted part of your family’s routine and provide caring, professional, flexible and play-focused childcare.
I’m happy to discuss availability, hours and your family’s individual requirements with interested families.
