Hello, my name is Lara, and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder providing a warm, home from home environment for children to learn, play, and grow. As a mother of two young children, I understand firsthand how important it is to find a space where your child feels safe, seen, and supported. My home is filled with care, calm, and creativity and is designed to encourage your little one’s development through play, exploration, and positive relationships.
My Experience
I bring with me years of experience working with young children, particularly through my involvement in church settings, where I’ve supported early development in fun and meaningful ways. I’ve also worked as a Senior Mentor for young people, giving me valuable insight into supporting emotional wellbeing, building confidence, and encouraging respectful relationships from an early age. In addition, I have previous experience babysitting for families, which helped me develop a practical, hands-on understanding of caring for children in a variety of home settings.
My Qualifications
I hold all the necessary qualifications required by Ofsted, including a 12-hour paediatric first aid certificate, safeguarding training, childcare training and DBS clearance. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support children’s development and tailor activities to their individual needs. My setting meets all health, safety, and food hygiene standards, ensuring a secure and caring environment.
My Availability
At First Little Steps, we provide a nurturing, home-from-home childcare setting, open full time Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm.

My small boy was with Lara from the age of 5 up on till 7. She was really interactive and created a good relationship with my child and made him feel welcome. She had lots of activities for them to do and kept me updated on a timely basis regarding my child.

Lara has been absolutely wonderful, kind, attentive, and incredibly nurturing. She creates a warm, safe, and fun environment where my child feels happy and supported every day. I would highly recommend Lara to any parent looking for quality care.
