Live In Nanny Job in Harpenden
About Me
We are a happy family of 4 (Mum, Dad, 3y6m old and 3m old) seeking a live-in or live out nanny to join our family.
My Requirements
Nanny / Household Manager — Hertfordshire (live-in or live-out — both welcome)
We're a two-career family in Hertfordshire, looking for an experienced nanny to take the lead on our two girls and run the domestic side of the house alongside it. Our eldest is 3 and at pre-school. Our youngest is 3 months.
We're looking for a proactive, energetic person. The ideal person for this role notices what needs doing and does it — reorganises the drawers, spots the outgrown shoes, replaces the socks with holes in, flags that we're running low on formula before we run out. You will be responsible for managing the domestic side of our household, with our support.
We're open minded on living arrangements. If you'd like to live in, we have a self-contained room with own bathroom, all bills and food included.
The role
Sole charge of our baby during the day, including feeds, naps and a structured routine.
Wraparound care for our 3-year-old: breakfast and school drop-off, pick-up at 3, one full day a week at home, plus school holidays.
Owning nursery and children's laundry, tidying, bedroom organisation, and keeping the children's kit stocked and rotated as they grow.
Planning and cooking children's meals, with a real interest in building good eating habits.
Batch cooking and light family food prep
Grocery ordering, children's admin, appointments and general household running
Taking the children to activities and organising outings in the holidays
Keeping us informed on what you've noticed and what you'd change
About you
Several years' professional nanny experience including newborns and sole charge of two children
Confident, organised and willing to take charge. You'll often be setting the plan
Comfortable with structure and routine, and happy to follow a method we've already established
Driver with a clean licence and your own car (essential)
Current paediatric first aid, enhanced DBS, non-smoker
Contactable references from families you've worked with for a year or more
Genuinely interested in child nutrition and able to cook properly for children
Hours and pay
Live-out: £15 per hour gross, 10 hours per day, Monday–Friday — £750 gross per week
Live-in: equivalent package with accommodation, bills and food included — happy to discuss the right structure with you
Occasional evenings and weekends
A long-term position with a family who values being told when something could be done better
