About Me
My name is Susan, I am 62 years old with 3 grown-up children . I have worked in the childcare industry for over 30 years. I started as a childminder, then went on to work in a private nursery. I have worked as a private live out nanny for the past 20 years, providing childcare for many wonderful families. I have been blessed to have worked long term for each of the families i have worked for , starting when their first child was a baby and continuing on with siblings until all the family children have reached full time school age.
I am fully registered and insured and keep up to date with regular childcare courses. I ensure my first aid qualification is always up to date. As i am registered with CIW i am able to provide a registration number to claim tax-free childcare or use the childcare voucher scheme that many workplaces provide. I also have a full DBS, which is renewed every 3 years / for each new family if required.
My Experience
I have experience in working as a self employed childminder, in a nursery setting and as a private Nanny . During my years of experience i have gained i vast knowledge in gentle behaviour management, potty training , special needs , allergies and intolerances, learning through play and child development.
I have thoroughly enjoyed every avenue of childcare, however, working as a Nanny is what I have enjoyed the most and continue to love. Getting to know a family and seeing the children grow is very special. The first family i worked for as a private Nanny still keep in contact. the Children are now in their early 20's and we still have a very special bond.
I also have 3 grown up children of my own and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
My Qualifications
I have:
Level 3 in homebased childcare
current First Aid qualification- pediatric
Level 2 in food hygiene
My Availability
My preference would be to work 3 full days between Mon - Fri. However, I am fully flexible and open to offers with this.
Ideally, I would like to work for the same family during my employment but again I am flexible fully flexible if families require a nanny share from me.
As an example my current working pattern is Wednesday - Friday every week, 7 am - 6pm.
Again this is by no means set in stone as i am flexible but just an example of my current working hours. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements.
