About Me
My name is Amy and I am a friendly, outgoing and warm teacher, who always wants the best for their students. During term time, I teach a class of 30 6-7 year olds and on some evenings, I tutor English as an Additional Language to adults. I also have experience tutoring GCSE English.
When I'm not teaching, I am doing yoga or Pilates, or reading a book.
During holidays, I have more availability to help you / your child.
My Experience
I am a qualified, passionate and experienced educator, whose primary role is classroom teacher in inner city London, but who also tutors a few hours a week outside of school. Within the borough of Hackney I am also a reading, writing and maths moderator and as such, have a solid understanding about formative and summative assessments, as well as the curriculum assessment frameworks. Friendly, enthusiastic and patient, I set high expectations for pupils so that they can achieve their full potential.
Lessons will vary depending on whether you are looking for support on learning English as an additional language, GCSE English or additional tuition to support primary level reading, writing and / or maths. We will discuss this in better detail ahead of time so that I can plan lessons tailored to suit the needs of you / your child.
Over the years, I have worked with a diverse range of students. My current class is made up of children from all walks of life; more than a third have special educational needs and over 60% are English as an Additional Language learners.
During the holidays, I am willing to support you general childcare / occupying your children in an educational manner (library visits, museums, story times, arts and crafts).

Journalism BA (Hons) 2:1 at Liverpool University
1 A (Drama), 2 Bs (English and Sociology) A-levels
10 A-C GCSEs
