My Experience
I have a brother with special needs (Autism, Adhd, SPD, Dyspraxia, learning disability and a rare chromosome deletion) that I live with he is 10 years old. I have a lot of personal experience with at home life. I am one of his careers. I have a lot of experience in different areas of special needs. I have experience in working with children with behavioural needs as well as autism, adhd and chromosome deletions as well as communication difficulties. I am PECS trained as well as belt picture user trained. I am behaviour management trained. I currently work as a teaching assistant in a special needs school. Supporting children from the age of 4-11 years old. I have experience of working with Older children too. I have experience in self care (Nappy’s/pads) changing. Helping them complete daily tasks like brushing teeth, cleaning up after them selves. I am first aid trained. I know basic Makaton and sign along sign language.
