About Me
Welcome to Nightingale Childminding. I’m Sarah and I have been working within the Early Years sector since I was 18. I qualified as a teacher in 2012, mostly working with Reception and Nursery aged children. My passions with the early years include providing rich learning experiences using natural resources and using the outdoors to explore, play and learn.
Since having two children of my own I have chosen to become a childminder which has been a hugely exciting transition for me and my family. I live with my husband, daughter, son, and our tortoise shelled cat, Jessie. During the day it will only be me home with your child and we will walk daily to Hayesdown School to drop off and pick up my children too. We are a friendly household with lots of love and friendship to give. Our family is very much looking forward to welcoming you to our home.

My Experience
My philosophy as a childminder is to create a safe, stimulating, and fun setting where young children can experience a ‘home from home’ environment whilst learning and building bonds with new friends. As a family we very much enjoy the outdoors and build this into our care each day with daily outings, exploring our local area. The children will be able to visit a local toddler group each week and meet up with other childminders and small groups of children at times. We will also have opportunities to visit local parks, woodland, libraries, soft plays, Longleat and other places within a 15mile radius.

My Availability
I am currently open Monday to Thursday Term Time only.
My opening hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm.

- Childminding from £6.80 per hour
I offer Tax Free Childcare and both 15 and 30 hours funding from 9months, depending on your entitlements

I was so pleased to have found Sarah as a childminder for my little boy. She was brilliant from the beginning, supporting him to settle and making him feel safe and secure. He would always get excited about going to see Sarah, and it made the first experience of childcare a breeze. The children are made to feel part of the family, and Sarah's own children are incredibly kind and caring, a real home from home.
Her communication with us as a family has been excellent, we were always reassured that things were going well and we enjoyed hearing about the things the children were getting up to. I loved that my boy got to experience a range of activities during his time with Sarah, including lots of time outside.
Having a background in EYFS, Sarah has so many skills to ensure the children experience a range of provision to help them develop. The space the children have to explore offers a range of activities inside and out and there has been real thought and care to ensure that there is lots to keep the children engaged.
I would recommend Sarah to anyone in the area looking for a childminder.

We are so thrilled to have found Sarah. She is a warm, friendly, fun and nurturing childminder. Our little boy is developing so many new skills, words and experiences through spending time with her. She is amazing at communicating everything we need to know, keeping in touch with regular updates and photos and end of term reports, all which are very grateful for. She has a lovely home with spaces for the kids inside and out. Our little one is very found of Sarah, her family and the other children she looks after - as are we! Thank you so much Sarah!

Sarah is an outstanding childminder who provides a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, happy, and valued. Her patience, creativity, and dedication to each child's development truly set her apart. Coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs at Hayesdown First School has been seamless, and seeing my son run to her each morning, excited for the day ahead, speaks volumes. It has been the best experience, and any child in Sarah’s care is incredibly fortunate.
