Settling in with my baby under 1 year old

I honestly don’t think I could recommend Lauren highly enough. Finding her has felt like an absolute godsend.

After having a couple of difficult experiences with childcare, I was naturally quite apprehensive about starting again with somebody new. From the moment I met Lauren, though, that feeling completely disappeared. She has this incredible ability to make you feel as though you’ve known her for years. She is so warm, genuine, reassuring and easy to talk to that, very quickly, she has felt more like a friend than simply somebody looking after my child.

And then there is the way she is with the children. She is genuinely fantastic. My child has taken to her amazingly well and, after only the third proper settling-in session, I can already see a real little bond beginning to form. As a parent, there is honestly no greater reassurance than seeing your child becoming comfortable, happy and secure with the person who is going to care for them.

Walking into Lauren’s home just feels different. There is such a lovely atmosphere — fun, happiness, warmth, nurture and, most importantly, safety. It doesn’t feel clinical or like you are simply dropping your child off somewhere for childcare. It feels like a genuine home from home where children are loved, included, played with and allowed to have a wonderful childhood.

Lauren is one of those people who seems to have been made to work with children. She is enthusiastic, kind, energetic and just naturally brilliant with them. There is always something fun going on, and she manages to create that magical balance of children feeling safe and nurtured while also having an absolute ball.

I have jokingly described her as a modern-day Mary Poppins, but I genuinely mean it! 😂❤️

More than anything, I feel incredibly lucky that we found her. Entrusting somebody else with your child is such a huge thing, and finding somebody who gives you that feeling of “yes, my child is going to be okay here” is priceless.

Lauren, thank you for making what could have been such an anxious transition feel so completely different. We are only at the beginning of our journey with you, but already I am so grateful that my child has you in their little world.

An absolutely wonderful childminder and a genuinely lovely person. I would recommend Lauren in a heartbeat. ❤️
