Eliza
Babysitter in Shipston-on-Stour
My Summary
About Me
I’m currently finishing my university degree and will be graduating with a Psychology degree in early May, after which I’ll be available to work any time, including weekdays, evenings, and school holidays. This makes me especially well suited for school holiday childcare or more flexible babysitting needs.
I will be based just out of Shipston-On-Stour, I drive but would prefer a close to home job.
I’ve always adored children and naturally have a “big sister” type energy – I’m often described as bubbly, kind, and very patient. I love spending time with kids, whether that’s playing games, doing creative activities, reading together, or helping with homework. I also love organising and tidying so I’d be happy to help if that’s required!
My degree has included modules in Educational Psychology and Developmental and Psychological Challenges in Childhood, where I’ve learned about child development, parenting approaches, and how children learn and grow. I really enjoy applying this knowledge when interacting with children in a fun, supportive way.
I genuinely love being around children and can’t wait to have kids of my own one day, so babysitting is something I find very rewarding.
My Experience
I have a small amount of previous experience babysitting children of different ages.
I occasionally babysat two girls aged 7, and 9, as well as an 8 year old girl and 5-year-old boy, helping with bedtime routines, and keeping them entertained while their parents were out.
I’ve also spent a lot of time helping with and looking after my younger cousins (aged 8 and 13), which has given me experience interacting with children at different developmental stages.
Because of my psychology background, I’m also particularly interested in how children learn, communicate, and develop, which helps me connect with them in a supportive and understanding way.
My Qualifications
I am currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and will be finished in early May. As part of my degree, I have studied modules including Educational Psychology and Developmental and Psychological Challenges in Childhood, which focus on topics such as child development, learning, parenting approaches, and the emotional and behavioural needs of children.
Through my studies I have developed a strong understanding of how children think, learn, and develop at different ages, which helps me interact with children in a supportive and age-appropriate way. I am also confident helping children with reading, homework, and learning activities.
I am currently in the process of obtaining a DBS check
