My Summary
About Me
I'm someone who finds it genuinely difficult to separate what I love from what I do - which, as it turns out, is a rather useful quality in a manny.
I bring an optimistic, energetic presence to everything, and I've learned that the best way to connect with a child is to be authentically interested in the things they care about, not perform it. Sport, music, movement, a good conversation, these aren't things I bring out for work, they're just how I move through the world. I play football, sing, write music, dance and train regularly, so afternoons with me tend to feel less like childcare and more like time well spent.
I take reliability seriously, not just being on time, but being consistent, present and the kind of person a family can build their routine around. I'm calm under the chaos that children reliably produce, and I have enough energy to match even the most spirited kid.
I have a good sense of humour. It comes in useful more often than you'd think.
My Experience
I've been lucky enough to work across many different households, and what that's given me beyond three years of experience is perspective. Every family does things differently, and I've come to love that. It's made me more adaptable, more observant, and a lot better at reading what a child actually needs on any given day.
My experience is boy-focused, ranging from 2 to 16, so I've seen pretty much every age and mood a male child can throw at you. I know how to pitch an activity for a restless five-year-old and hold a real conversation with a fifteen-year-old who thinks he's too cool for all of this. That range isn't something you can fake. you just have to have lived it.
My approach is rooted in respect and genuine curiosity about the kids I work with. I don't arrive with a rigid plan, I arrive with ideas, energy and enough creativity to make the ordinary feel like something worth showing up for. Homework, meals, downtime, I put thought into all of it, because the small stuff is the whole job.
I'm looking for a family where it feels like a genuine fit, where my energy and theirs click, and where I can show up as myself rather than a version of what I think they want to see.
