About Me

I’m Helen, a Stewarton based childminder.
My ethos promotes hands on learning and fun in a nurturing environment. I have a playroom for the children in my care with age appropriate toys, including a home corner with a kitchen and baby dolls for nurturing play, construction area with Duplo and building blocks, arts and crafts area for drawing, colouring and play doh as well as a quiet area with books and soft toys. I do regular toy & book rotations to keep the children engaged. I have a large enclosed garden with sandpit, playhouse and lots of outdoor toys. There will be an emphasis on outdoor play where we will also make use of all the lovely play parks in Stewarton as well as the woods.There will be a lot of learning through play, including sensory play, arts and crafts, baking and food prep, free play, storytelling and role play. We will access the local children’s playgroups such as messy play and toddler groups as well as trips to softplay and National Trust sites. Each child’s interests and personalities will be considered and with input from parents, a suitable caring and learning environment will be tailored to them.

We have 2 pugs, a rabbit, Guinea pig and a hamster! All the animals are well socialised and friendly however we realise that they are not for everyone and will be kept separate to the children in my care unless they wish to play with them which will be fully supervised. They have all been brought up with my 6 year old daughter and we realise how important they have been in her childhood.
