Hi, my name is Zia and I am a final-year medical student at Newcastle University. I have recently completed a MSc in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research before returning to my final year of medicine.
I would describe myself as a patient, kind, responsible and attentive person who genuinely loves working with children. In my spare time I enjoy running, cooking and playing the piano, and I am also happy to help with tutoring or homework if that would be of interest.
I would love to meet you and get to know your children, and I would be very happy to provide references if requested.
My Experience
I have lots of experience working with children through babysitting, nannying, tutoring and helping to care for my three younger siblings (aged 3, 6 and 9). I have babysat for several families in a variety of capacities, including evening babysitting and overnight weekend care.
More recently, I have been nannying for two boys aged 8 and 11, helping with after-school care, homework, activities and everyday routines. I have also babysat for a 3-year-old in Newcastle. I am comfortable with all aspects of childcare, including preparing and cooking dinner, bathing, bedtime routines and organising activities such as swimming, arts and crafts and outdoor play. I particularly enjoy cooking and would be very happy to help with family meals.
Alongside childcare, I also have experience tutoring students, including currently supporting Year 12 and Year 13 students with A-level Biology. I enjoy helping children and young people build confidence in their learning and am happy to provide homework support or tutoring alongside childcare.
I have also worked as a support worker for individuals with learning disabilities for the past three years, which has given me experience supporting people with additional needs and approaching different situations with patience, understanding and flexibility.
