Hello, I'm Kate, a registered childminder with OFSTED and a registered Dental Nurse. After having my daughter (December 2022) childminding was the natural next step to enable me to be present with my daughter, understand how to help her and other children reach developmental milestones, whilst helping support our family financially and creating an homely environment for children to step into whilst their guardians need to step away.
I moved to the UK from Australia in 2021 and I live at home with my husband and daughter. My husband works from home some days of the week. My daughter loves other children and so it would be also beneficial for her to have other children to interact with and learn from. We now have baby number two on the way and I will be taking some maternity time off to settle into life as a family of four. Hoping to resume childminding services from early 2027.
I have always enjoyed spending time with children, and enabling them to feel safe to explore their natural curiosities, develop their abilities and independence.
My Experience
My experience is as a parent and I have been childminding since September 2023 as well as babysitting for family & friends children over the years as well. I have experience with nervous and special needs children (and adults) in my role as a Dental Nurse. I am looking forward to expanding my experience with children as time progresses.
In my time as a childminder I have helped enabled nervous and shy children love and grow in confidence in exploring new experiences, different places and in their own abilities to do things. I love celebrating with them when they achieve something new, like putting on their coat, or finding their shoes themselves. It’s been a pleasure to help them grow in their understanding of the world and things about them and expand their play opportunities.
Our home has two play area's, a lovely garden and we are in walking distance to several playgrounds. We have outings to local experiences (farms, soft plays, aquarium, science museums, museums, libraries, forests / woods, national trust parks and places and local play / Childminder’s groups) and engage in many activities at home such as growing our vegetables, fruits, flowers, home baking, crafts, art, and music making, imaginary / role play for some examples. I balance the day with outings and play based learning.
My Qualifications
I have recently completed my EYFS training and understand the seven areas of development. I have also completed training in Development Matters, Food Safety & Hygiene and Safeguarding / Child Protection. I hold a full paediatric first aid certificate and BLS & First Aid certificates. I have also knowledge and qualifications in infection control standards, healthy eating, oral diseases and oral health care.
My Availability
From May 2026 I will be on maternity leave until early 2027. Please contact me for space availability from 2027.
My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
£9.00 per hour, including meals, snacks, outings, cows milk / drinks and wipes.
£8.00 per hour for packed lunches and snacks.
Nappies, breast milk / formula and a change of clothes are to be provided for by the parent/ guardian.

Kate was my first and best childminding experience. During the time my son was with her; she was warm and gentle with him and the other children, and always had thoughtful and stimulating activities for them to enjoy, with lots of fresh air when possible. Kate always kept me updated with pictures to cheer my day, and was ever-professional; with quick and painless drop offs and pick ups (despite my son being clingy) to make the working day easier.

My daughter had been to a couple of child minders as she was cautious, shy and very selective. Over the year my daughter has been with Kate, she is now super confident and excelling in most areas of development. Kate takes care of all food (which helps us in the mornings) and believes in getting out and keeping busy. Always updating us with pictures of animal parks, we the curious, parks and always and provides feedback so we are always in the loop. My daughter at times now is the most confident child in the room, Kate can take a lot of the credit for this. Kate ensures she gets the attention and activities to never be bored and get her creativity out. I cannot recommend Kate enough as mentioned earlier with both children we have seen many childminding settings and this is the best, most professional and most active. Thank you so much for looking after our girl. A small group of children where your child can create a bond and go to activities with more children to build confidence.

I’ve never used a childminder before but needed to top up my nursery care and they had no availability. Kate has been faultless so far. So responsive and helpful from the first contact. We popped into to meet Kate and her lovely girl Nora and Matilda was instantly happy to be there. Her set up at home is welcoming and full of toys. Tilly has attended two sessions so far and has loved her time there. Kate does so much with her and I love all the pics, not somehting you get a lot of from nursery. Tilly settled in immediately, napping and eating well, coming home happy after a fun day! Kates great to deal with, professional, open, kind and very calm. I would fully recommend Kate to anyone looking for a loving and fun childminder.
