Nanny in Bath
My Summary
About Me
Hello. I retired from the NHS almost 3 years ago as a Lead Medical Secretary at the RUH and am looking for a child care role for just a few hours a week, so can either step in ad hoc or am happy to do a regular stint. I have done several nanny / after school pick up jobs over many years. I am a cheerful young-at-heart 67 (eek !) year old who absolutely adores the company of young children ! Despite being retired my life seems pretty full - I do figurative sculpture, volunteer at Bath Toy Library and am thoroughly enjoying catching up with friends ! I also have holidays planned in April and end May. (My last DBS check was for a volunteer driving role for social services soon after I retired). Otherwise I enjoy my home, cinema, theatre, walking, travel etc. etc !
My Experience
I most recently looked after a 4 year old and a 18 month year old, usually mornings once or twice a week (0900-1130) or occasional school pickups (1130-1530) - Mum worked from home and so I took the girls out to the various playgrounds in our lovely Bath parks, Bath City Farm, local walks and enjoyed treats like ice-cream in the summer or hot chocolate when it was cold! On occasion I have done supper, bath-time and snuggling up with a book at bed-time if Mum and Dad have a parents' evening. (However I am not overly keen on babysitting in the evenings especially during the darker, colder evenings - sorry !). I also looked after 2 young boys picking up from school and helping out until mum and dad had finished work (again in their home).
In the past I was a nanny to 3 children in France (aged 3 months, 2 years and 4 years), nanny/English tutor to a 6 year old girl in Istanbul for 3 months, did a school pickup for 2 junior school girls which involved homework and supper before Mum and Dad got home from work - this all took place in the 1980's (ie before most of you were born !) - along with many babysitting roles over the decades.
My Qualifications
Whilst I don't hold professional qualifications I hope that my happy disposition, care, sense of fun and imagination goes some way to ensuring that your little one(s) would be well looked after. Naturally, of course, am happy to provide a reference from a past employer.
My Availability
I can do from 1-4 hours per week, ideally an afternoon but a morning is possible - I like to keep weekends free. Just a few extra hours is what I'm looking for ideally so can also be available for non-regular work or sometimes at short notice. I am based on the East side of Bath near Larkhall/Batheaston and would prefer not to travel more than a few miles to my workplace.
My Fees
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
45p per mile outside of BA1 area to cover petrol etc.
My Documents
- UK Passport [DELETED] (added 04/02/2024)
