About Me
Hi I’m Jodie, I’m an ofsted registered childminder since 2022 and I’m loving my new career. I’m 35 and live in New Mills with my 2 children.
I offer a ‘home from home’ environment and lots of my families saying working with me is like having an extra family member which is a feeling I strive to give. Your children are your most precious thing in the world and I am grateful for anyone who chooses me as their childcare provider.
I love seeing children in my care grow and develop. I will help to do this by providing stimulating and engaging activities. These will include arts and crafts, cooking, messy play, reading books, sand and water play and spending time in the great outdoors! I also believe that children should explore their local surrounds, for example visiting the local library, children centers, toddler groups, etc.
I am Ofsted registered, first aid trained and hold a valid DBS. I am a fun, calm, responsible and caring person, I am honest and reliable.
My Experience
I have 4 years previous experience working in a preschool with children aged between 6 months-5, I started out working as the nursery cook and fell in love with working with the children so I did my Level 3 and qualified as an Early years educator. I then came out of the kitchen and worked with the children for 2 years where I also worked my way up to Sen deputy also.
I have volunteered at my children’s school for trips, listening to reading, helping to run the PFA and for a short while I did governors too. I have helped in all aged classrooms and have worked with children aged 4-11.
Currently I am looking after children aged 7 months-12 years. I absolutely love completing new courses and extending my knowledge.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 Early years educator qualification.
Alongside this I have all the standard safeguarding, prevent duty, food hygiene, first aid and I aim to complete a course a month to better my knowledge continuously.
