My Requirements

1-to-1 Tutor Required for 8-Year-Old Boy – English & Maths

I am looking for an experienced and supportive tutor for my 8-year-old son, who will be starting Year 4 in September.

My son has a speech and language delay and currently receives Speech and Language support through his school. He also has an EHCP and would benefit from regular 1-to-1 tuition to help him build confidence and catch up with his peers, particularly in English and Maths.

He is an extremely intelligent, bright and capable child who learns quickly when concepts are explained in a way that works for him. He is confident with many of his Phase 3 phonics sounds and has worked hard on blending them together. His school has identified that his key areas for development moving into Year 4 are Phase 5 phonics, reading fluency and confidence, as well as spelling and sentence construction.

In Maths, he has an excellent memory and is particularly good with his times tables. He often picks things up quickly but benefits from encouragement, repetition and someone who can patiently help him understand and apply new concepts.

I am therefore looking for a tutor who is patient, encouraging and experienced in supporting children with additional learning needs, ideally someone who can build a positive relationship with him and make learning enjoyable while still providing structure and consistency.

The main areas of support would be:

* English and Maths
* Phonics and reading fluency
* Spelling
* Sentence construction and writing
* Building confidence and independence
* Reinforcing school learning and helping him work towards national expectations

Ideally, I am looking for regular 1-to-1 sessions on a long-term basis, rather than short-term or occasional tutoring.
