> Extensive practical experience with the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process, including applications, assessments, reviews, amendments and challenging provision that does not adequately reflect a child's needs.
> Experience liaising with Local Authority SEND teams regarding EHCP provision and educational support.
> Experience coordinating and communicating with schools, SENDCos, teachers, senior leadership teams and 1:1 support staff.
> Experience liaising across education, healthcare and medical services to ensure information about a child's needs is properly communicated.
> Experience communicating with GPs, clinicians and other healthcare professionals as part of assessment and support processes.
> Strong understanding of the importance of multi-agency working in supporting children with SEND.
> Practical understanding of autism in mainstream education, including the adjustments required for an autistic child to access learning successfully.
> Experience advocating for a child to remain within mainstream education with appropriate reasonable adjustments and individualised support.

> Experience identifying when environments or activities are unsuitable or insufficiently adapted for an autistic child.

> Practical experience supporting emotional regulation, transitions, social communication and understanding social cues.
> Experience breaking instructions and activities into clearer, smaller and more manageable steps for an autistic learner.
> Experience supporting the development of literacy, comprehension, memory, concentration and learning engagement.
> Experience supporting a child who progressed significantly educationally, including helping a previously non-verbal child develop into a strong reader by approximately age six.
> Experience encouraging independence and resilience rather than creating unnecessary dependence on adult support.
> Understanding of the importance of structured routines, predictability, recovery time and appropriate sensory breaks.
> Experience supporting participation in sport and extracurricular activities while considering additional SEND requirements.
> Experience assessing whether clubs and activity providers have the appropriate understanding and capability to support an autistic child safely.
> Strong practical understanding of SEND safeguarding, particularly where communication differences can complicate how incidents are reported or understood.

Can be flexible, but mostly able to visit for tutoring at the weekend.
