About Me
I was born in the North East of England and am currently studying English Literature in London.
My youngest sister was born when I was 12 so the large age gap meant I’ve been responsible for looking after her throughout the years. This has made me very confident and comfortable with looking after younger children especially between the ages of 1-7.
I love working with children because of the unique way they see the world. Kids are so fun and imaginative and I love interacting with them to see the world throughout their own perspective.
Being far from home also makes me miss my own younger sister who is so full of life and energy. Although I appreciate kids can sometimes be a lot to handle, I find that working with them brings a sense of joy and achievement that is difficult to emulate.
My Experience
Since the age of 12 I’ve helped out with raising and looking after my youngest sister, who is now 7. This has given me lots of experience with working with younger children - I definitely understand the importance of keeping them constantly busy and entertained!
I have also done various work with older children via working at my church summer camps and Sunday school. This was mostly arts and crafts supervision with kids aged 10-13.
I have previously volunteered as a therapeutic care volunteer at my local hospital and some of the work there required managing older children on the ward.
