Hi
I'm Sharren, I love working with children and have many years experience as a Mum, nanny and teaching assistant at a local primary school with children with additional needs.
I also run a local Guide unit which keeps me active and my imagination working!
I love to encourage children to play out, explore, go on woodland adventures. Cooking with children is great fun, I try to involve them in meal prepping, cooking, baking and tidying up afterwards - I'm not super cook but I can produce a tasty nutritional meal. My crafting abilities are limited but I'm willing to give it a try!
Some people think I'm a bit 'old fashioned' with my ways of doing things but we always have fun and and are ready for a bath and bedtime.
My Experience
I worked as a nanny for a family from 2007 - 2013, this family had 4 children and I took my daughter with me. The children and family were great and I'm still in contact with them now even as young adults.
In my most recent job nannying, I work with a family one afternoon a week, this family has 2 children.
I'm more than happy to support with homework.
My job as a teaching assistant has given me the ability to think alternatively, be open minded to childrens needs and ways of working to make learning enjoyable and meaningful.
My Qualifications
Although I don't have any formal qualifications, I have many years of experience.
My first aid certificate is always current though Guiding which covers me for pediatrics and adults, although not currently I have done infant first aid in the past so have the basic knowledge
