About Me
I have a space from September (half days 9am - 1pm or full days 9am up to 4pm ). Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Jana. I am a mum of two children. I used to live with my family in London. In 2020 we moved to Letchworth while I was still commuting to North London where I worked as a nursery nurse. After my second baby had arrived I decided to open my own small home based nursery. Our place is a home-based setting that feels like a "mini nursery". It has the "home from home" feel of a childminding setting where small group of children learns together. I provide a loving, happy, safe and stimulating environment, in small age related groups, enabling the children to participate in a wide range of activities and experiences. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. The curriculum designed for all children under 5 years old. My goal is to build confidence and independence in every child in my care before they move to bigger nursery or reception.
As me and my husband are of different cultures (my husband is originally from Turkey and I am from Czech Republic) we enjoy celebrating different festivals and introducing them to our children. Having incorporated British values in the setting, children in my care will have the opportunity to learn about different people’s cultures and taking part in celebrations such as Diwali, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Easter, Eid Mubarak, etc…
Garden - children will have access to use garden on a daily basis for creative and imaginative play. The daily set up will give them the opportunity to explore different resources and use their senses and be physically active
Fresh home cooked meals are prepared daily, providing a nutritious balanced diet.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare sector since 2012. I started as a childminder assistant and after successfully completing level 3 in childcare I became fully qualified nursery nurse. During my career I gained experience in working with babies and toddlers. As a key worker my responsibilities was to plan activities according to ages and stages of my key children, followed by observations and making links to the seven areas of child’s development. Ensuring children’s safety and overall wellbeing was top priority for this position.

Jana and I worked for a number of years together in a nursery and she is one of the most creative, kind, nurturing and approachable colleagues I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She was amazing with the children who, year in year out, adored her company, her creativity and learning with her. Jana has excellent knowledge of the eyfs, development matters and birth to five and implemented the areas of learning throughout curriculums that she was part of building. Her gentle communication and approach to children really mean that they thrived under her care and I am very excited to see what she will achieve in her new endeavour. She had an excellent relationship with parents too and was always willing to offer advice, participate in staff meetings and team building too.

Jana has been childminding my daughter since August 2021.
I have been extremely happy with the care my daughter has received, and the great progress she has made whilst in Jana’s care. Jana’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my daughter has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in her care. Jana provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise. I know my daughter has recently enjoyed sand play, drawing and sticking, reading and puzzles as well as outings to the park.
I know that Jana is providing healthy snacks every day. I am also aware that Jana ensures good personal hygiene in encouraging all the children to wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet. I’m sure that it is this practice together with the cleanliness of Jana ‘s home which has ensured that my daughter has remained healthy and bug free for the last 10 months.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care my daughter receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping her develop into a confident and self-assured little girl.
I would absolutely recommend Jana as a great and reliable childminder.
