About Me

Our wonderful nanny is moving out of the area and so we have a nanny-housekeeper position open with our family.

Brief details are below:
Family: Family of full time working professionals with two lovely, well mannered children: 3.5 year old, and 1 year old.

Hours and days: TWO OPTIONS:
Option 1: Full time employed position 8 hours a day 5 days a week; opportunties for ad-hoc additional hours off term and on occasional weekends
Option 2: Part-time, self-employed nanny-share position, 2-3 days/week, 5-8 hours per day - flexible based on your and our requirements; opportunties for ad-hoc additional hours off term and on occasional weekends. Happy to consider two candidates - one working each day/week so do reach out even if you can only do certain dates.

We are open to discussing arrangements for the right person.

Salary: Gross hourly rate negotiable, & based on experience. Salary increase after 12 months of employment included in contract.

Start date: 01 September 2026 onwards (closest to, start date)

Driving license and own car: essential

Job description: the core of the job is nannying and childcare for the 3.5 year old, and the 1 year old. On most days you will be assisting another family member (grandmother) caring for the children but will take the lead role. On some days, you will not have this additional support from the grandmother. The schedule for this will be shared in advance on a 6 monthly pro-rota basis.
The childcare component of the job will be supplemented by light housekeeping (not cleaning, we have dedicated cleaners and gardeners) - including laundry, ironing and changing bed linen, preparing children's meals, and tidying.
There will be occasional pickups from nursery required (car seats will be provided and travel surcharge paid at 41p per mile); and occasional trips to the park, library, art class and bicycle class (only if pre-agreed with you & schedule shared in advance).
Our children are happy, creative, kind, and curious, they are active, polite, helpful children who we treasure greatly. No special needs.

The ideal nanny will have:

* Experience caring for infants and toddlers
* A warm, caring, and proactive nature
* A high level of flexibility and reliability
* Paediatric first aid training (Ideal but not essential)
* Excellent references
* A DBS check (Ofsted registration desirable but not essential)

Personal specs: Highly motivated, organised person with a 'can-do' attitude who wants to make a positive contribution to a busy, motivated, hardworking family - and stimulate the children in a positive, healthy manner with arts, crafts, walks in the garden, lots of reading and responsive-play. Independent working, resourcefulness and energetic, happy attidtude to the job is essential. We would love to find someone who feels like a trusted extension of our family and who can provide consistent, loving care to our children. **Kindness to the little ones is essential**
