About Me

Hi I'm Emilie, I am 18. I currently work within a nursery and hold my Level 2 qualification in Early Years. I am paediatric first aid trained and have experience working with children aged from around 5 months to 5 years. I am based within the toddler room so do feel a lot more confident working with children over a year and have more experience with children over 18 months, I am schema trained if you don't know what this is it means that I observe the children I work with and find out what schemes and schemas they are displaying meaning I see what their interests are as well as this it shows me how the child learns this could mean they enjoy throwing things some people may see this as a bad behaviour but I see it as trajectory meaning they enjoy this and find it fun and we can work around this and make it safe and fun way for them to learn for example instead of throwing blocks I may find beanbags to throw and make it into a throwing game so that they can get out the urge to throw as well as making it a safe and educational. I absolutely love my job and working with children and watching them grow into their own little people and meeting their milestones I really wouldn't want to work in any other industry. Me working in a nursery does restrict my availability unfortunately, weekends are the best for me however in the future I will be looking to work some more hours outside of work. I will soon be learning how to drive so eventually I will be able to get to places easier however at this moment in time I do rely on the my family and public transport to get to places.
