About Me
As your child's Key Worker and Educator I implement and adhere to the Statutory Framework for the (Childminder EYFS) within Apple-House Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure that the 7 primary areas of learning are followed along with the four guiding principles. I am OFSTED registered 2019 with a grade 2 GOOD 18/05/2023.
I embrace a learning environment that will prepare children for their first day of nursery, school and beyond. As a mother of three, I deliver a flexible, personal childcare service to suit you and your child for the Bolton area.
Choosing a setting for your child is such an important decision. I strive for children to become confident, kind and responsible young people who know what it feels like to be happy and how to share joy with others. I am experienced, kind, nurturing and keep the children's needs a priority.
My setting promotes a happy, safe and calm environment where children feel safe. I offer various routines to develop children's listening and talking skills that promote communication and language development We have circle time and song bag time every morning which gives us the opportunity to discuss our weekend's along with feelings and emotions.
Your needs and your child's needs are my top priority. I focus on the childminder EYFS and ensure that literacy, maths, communication and language skills along with PE are implemented during our daily routines.
I work closely with parents, our Bolton community, networks and services providing high-quality childcare and education.
Some of my qualifications include Safeguarding Level 3, Prevention, Food Safety Level 2 as well as being fully Paediatric first aid trained.
My Experience
After looking after my younger brother I became a babysitter from 1989 to 1992 for a very young family of three. This increased as other families became aware of my knowledge and skills in the area. I stopped to study for my GCSE's. I then went on to Bolton College to become qualified as a Private Secretary. I worked for companies including Bolton Council. I became a mother of three and joined a bank in 2004. During this time, I volunteered at my children's nursery during my spare time. I left the bank in 2016 when an opportunity arose for me to set up my own business as a childminder. I passed all my training and exams, registered with Ofsted in 2019 and then COVID-19 struck where I (along with the rest of the world) was forced to close until further notice. I re-opened after the second lockdown for key worker children only. This was extremely difficult as parents were not allowed on premises, social distancing a must and I have helped new parents throughout this and you can read their reviews upon request. After government rules changed again, I was able to welcome all children back into my setting and at a full capacity.
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified and trained childminder and child care provider. I am Ofsted Grade 2 GOOD 18th May 2023. My family and I are all DBS checked and on the update subscription service. I am Level 2 and 3 trained in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering, Prevention trained, Fire Safety Risk trained, Bee Keeping Diploma, amongst numerous qualifications which are ongoing to ensure I am always up-to-date and knowledgeable and how to sign-post parents, carers and children.
