About Me

My name is Mairead Heneghan and I am in my final year of university, studying History and Spanish. I am about to start a Masters in International Law.

I am an extroverted, engaging and committed tutor who is interested in creating tangible change in the lives of young people. I have made a huge difference to the learning styles of hundreds of students who have struggled to grasp concepts in class but with my help have reached their full potential.

I am happy to offer support outside of tutoring times to parents who struggle to know how to help their child to learn in the most effective way possible.

My Experience

I have been privately tutoring in English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History and Spanish for over 4 years to students from all over the world remotely over Zoom, in schools and in person. I also have experience in teaching debating to students in Bristol, London and Singapore.

I have a wealth of experience planning and delivering lessons which are specifically focused on making learning as engaging as possible, tying in the interests and hobbies of my students to make the content easy to grasp and memorable.

I have taught and coached students with ADHD. I have ADHD myself which makes me able to quickly understand the difficulties faced by children who struggle to stay focused and organise their thoughts. I have helped these students to recognise their strengths and utilise them in the process of learning instead of feeling ashamed of their symptoms.
