Live Out Nanny For 33 Hours A Week.
About Me
We have a two year old and a one year old. We both have demanding jobs in the NHS with shift work and out of hours components. I work part time, however my job also has a training and studying component and thus I sometimes need childcare cover outside of my usual working hours to cover attendance at training events and to allow me to study.
Unfortunately the one year old is really struggling to settle with the childminder we already use for our two year old since I went back to work. It is looking like at this stage in his development it is possibly not the environment for him. He is struggling a lot to manage without 1:1 attention and seems more at ease in his home environment. Thus we are considering the use of a nanny. This would be a fixed contract for somewhere between 3 and 8 months long (we hope to finalise decision about this in next few days/weeks but a lot is in flux just now.) Once my one year old is a bit older the idea would be to try the childminder/nursery again and for the nanny to help us manage transition to this and provide us with childcare cover during the settling in period.
We will keep our two year old attending the childminder as she is very settled there and benefits from the opportunity to socialise with other children. However we would hope that the nanny would be able to mind her maybe one day a week or once a fortnight to build a relationship. We would then rely on this person to cover two year olds childcare needs on days where she is too under the weather to be at childminder (but not so unwell she needs a parent at home) and to cover the childminders annual leave etc.
My Requirements
We are looking for someone for 33 hours a week across three days. This would be initially on a three month contract and could be extended to six or beyond.
We do not have any local family who can help us so with the right candidate we would hope to continue the relationship for many years to come for more ad hoc babysitting and also to provide emergency/weekend cover etc depending on the persons availability.
We are looking for someone with a DBS check, good references from a previous employer and experience nannying such young children.
