About Me
My name is Danielle Hurren and I am a private tutor and governess of more than ten years.
Having worked in private households for more than ten years, I am highly experienced at providing tuition within the home. Although my interest in academia stretches far beyond the classroom and into the world around us.
I am a keen reader, and enjoy both classic and contemporary English Literature. Alongside this, I am an avid traveller, and hiker and have walked thousands of miles over the last few years across Europe and the UK.
My stories of these walks, which find publication both online and in papers, have also been featured on a number of important podcasts. Alongside this, my writing has been featured in The Italian Insider, and Drago Publishing, and I am currently in the process of writing a book about my travel on foot along the Camino de Santiago.
My Experience
I work as a private tutor and governess, offering mentorship, childcare and specialising in helping students through Undergraduate, GCSE, A-level and IB. I tutor English Literature, Writing and Essay Composition. To date, I have helped students through entrance essays for top American universities, as well as completing coursework essays, and have tutored students in many locations from Rome and Kazakhstan, to Switzerland, Cyprus and London.
- Home-Schooling a KS3 student in all subjects up to GCSE (Berwickshire).
- Working as a freelance tutor to pupils across the two prominent International Schools of Rome, St George’s International School and Marymount (Rome, Italy).
-A placement in Kazakhstan, homeschooling a year four pupil (Almaty, Kazakhstan).
-A seven month placement in Rome, working as a tutor and governess to a year one pupil in preparation for transition to the UK (Rome/St.Moritz/Sardegna).
-IB tuition in English Literature and History (Rome).
-11+ tuition for a pupil of Eton House Square, London, preparing him for his entrance into Wetherby Preparatory School (Tuscany 2016/17).
