About Me
Welcome to The Kookaburra’s Nest – Boutique Nursery, a childminding setting with a difference. We are a small, family-run childcare provision in Suffolk offering high-quality care and education for children under five.
We describe ourselves as a boutique nursery because, although we are registered as childminders, we operate in a way that blends the warmth and flexibility of childminding with the structure and quality of a nursery. Unlike larger settings, we offer a warm, home-from-home environment where every detail is thoughtfully considered. From our curriculum and room layouts to the food on children’s plates, everything is designed with care, quality and attention to detail.
Our vision is to give children the very best start in life through a challenging, inspiring and nature-rich environment. We believe in supporting the whole family – providing nutritious meals, nappies and wipes, as well as consistent routines and clear communication, so that families feel confident and reassured.
Children at The Kookaburra’s Nest enjoy small ratios, daily outdoor learning in our mud kitchen, sand and water play, and regular community adventures. Families often describe us as a “second home” – a place where children feel safe, joyful and celebrated.
My Experience
I am a fully registered and Ofsted-approved childminder, with extensive experience in early years care and education. I have built The Kookaburra’s Nest around my passion for high-quality, child-centred practice, drawing on Montessori, Reggio Emilia and curiosity-based approaches. I regularly update my training in safeguarding, EYFS, paediatric first aid and child development to ensure the highest standards.
I run the setting with my husband, Nic, who is also a registered childminder and a qualified chef/nutritionist. Nic prepares our daily home-cooked meals and supports children in developing independence and healthy habits around food.
We also have a trained assistant who is fully vetted, safeguarding-trained and has 20 years of experience in early years settings. This means we are able to offer a rich, nurturing environment with plenty of adult support, while keeping group sizes small and personal.
Together, we provide a childminding setting that combines the warmth of a home-from-home with the professional quality of a boutique nursery.
My Qualifications
All practitioners at The Kookaburra’s Nest – Boutique Nursery are Level 3 qualified in Early Years and fully trained in safeguarding and paediatric first aid.
Our in-house chef, Nic, is also a qualified childminder and trained chef/nutritionist, ensuring children enjoy balanced, home-cooked meals and develop healthy habits from the very start.
We regularly update our knowledge through ongoing CPD, ensuring our practice reflects the latest EYFS requirements, Ofsted guidance and child development research.
As a team, we are committed to maintaining the highest professional standards while combining this with a warm, home-from-home approach.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.50 per hour
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
As a childminding setting, our fees are designed to be clear, inclusive and good value for the high-quality care we provide.
Our fees include:
All nutritious, home-cooked meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks)
Nappies, wipes and creams
Full brimmed hats, high viz, puddle suits, wellies
Personalised cups and water bottles for each child
Daily activities and outings, including local adventures such as the farm, beach, museums, castles and nature walks
Enriching resources, crafts and learning materials
We also offer funded early education places in line with government entitlements. Funded hours cover education only. To access the full, inclusive service we provide, families are asked to contribute a consumables charge, which covers meals, outings and premium resources.

Casey-Lee and her team at TKN are fantastic. My son has been in her setting 3 days a week since he was 8mths and she has done a great job with building trust to overcome separation anxiety issues, she was also happy to support us on some soft day time sleep training which has improved overall napping at home and in her setting. Our son had only just begun his weaning journey when he started at TKN, but has such a great relationship with food now thanks to the delicious food he gets for breakfast, lunch and dinner with Casey-Lee. It’s been great to see our son really come out of his shell, develop new skills and make friends in this great home away from home, but professional setting!

Casey did phenomenal job each time our 7 years old daughter stayed with her. We got to know her when we were looking for a childminder to take care of our daughter, while I was in hospital due to complicated pregnancy. Each time we called her, no matter if it was midnight or early in the morning, she never refused us and looked after our daughter very well, providing lunch, snacks, and most important love and care for all kids. Even when we could not pick our daughter up due to the unexpected overnight hospital stay, we weren’t concerned even a bit, knowing that she would take care of her in a best way possible. She is very careful to details and at that night she made sure our daughter’s school uniform is clean, and provided home wear and toothbrush too. These might be small details but means a lot for parents. Our daughter loves going to Caseys and still goes there on every opportunity. We can’t thank enough for her services.
