A Wonderful Au Pair and Part of Our Family

Maloryn lived with our family in Denmark as our au pair for a year and a half, and she truly became part of our family. We couldn’t have asked for a more caring, reliable, and flexible person to help care for our three children. She built such a special relationship with each of them, always planning fun activities, cooking, baking, trips to museums, outdoor adventures, crafts, and games based on what they enjoyed. She also drove them to and from school every day and made every day feel exciting.

What impressed us most was how much she genuinely cared. Without us ever asking, she encouraged our children to eat a much healthier, more balanced diet, spend less time on screens, and rediscover how much fun it is to play, be creative, and enjoy the outdoors. It made a real difference to our family. She is kind, patient, trustworthy, and has a natural gift with children. We feel incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives, we really miss her and we recommend her wholeheartedly

A reliable and loving nanny!

We highly recommend Maloryn. She was a truly wonderful nanny to our two sons (aged 7 and 4) for over a year, and we are so grateful for the care she provided them. We still try to find as many opportunities as we can for her to come and babysit occasionally as the boys miss seeing her more regularly.

Maloryn has a brilliantly child-led approach; she took the time to really get to know the boys as individuals, understanding all of their unique likes, dislikes, and personalities. She is constantly coming up with fantastic, fun crafting ideas that keep them engaged and creative.

Beyond her wonderful creativity, her core approach is deeply loving, patient, and understanding. It is abundantly clear how much she genuinely cares for our children, and they adore her in return. From a parent's perspective, she is extraordinarily reliable, professional, and an excellent communicator. She somehow always left the house so perfectly tidy and she is also an incredible cook.

Any family would be very lucky to have her!

A Loving, Dedicated and Exceptional Nanny

Maloryn cared for our son from the time he was six months old, and she quickly became a much-loved part of our family. She introduced him to Spanish in such a natural and loving way that he grew up confidently speaking the language. She was always taking him to parks, outdoor activities, and new adventures that supported his learning, confidence, and development. Maloryn was incredibly flexible, reliable, and always willing to help whenever we needed her. We are so grateful for everything she did for our son, and our whole family has so much love and appreciation for her. We would recommend her without hesitation.

Professional, Reliable and Kind

I can't recommend Maloryn highly enough. She looked after my two children for almost three years and was always professional, reliable, caring, and an excellent communicator. She quickly became a trusted part of our family.

More than 12 years later, we still keep in touch. My children still love seeing her whenever they can, and we're even planning for them to stay with her on holiday soon. She has always held a very special place in our hearts.

Fantastic experience all round

Maloryn has cared for our daughter from when she was just 9 months and it was clear from our initial meeting that she has a genuine passion for childcare. Since then they have developed a loving bond and she looks forward to the days when they can spend time together. We have always found Maloryn to be very kind and caring, well prepared and professional with communication. We trust her completely and would highly recommend her skills.

Two Wonderful Years with Maloryn

We have been lucky enough to have Maloryn as part of our family's life for the past two years, and we honestly couldn't be more grateful. When we first moved to Kendal, we didn't have much of a support system, and finding trustworthy childcare felt overwhelming. Like many parents, we were anxious about leaving our son with someone else. Looking back now, choosing Maloryn was one of the best decisions we could have made.

From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable and supported. She didn't just take wonderful care of our son, she also helped us adjust to our new life in Kendal. She shared helpful contacts, recommended places to go, gave us advice whenever we needed it, and was always willing to help in ways that went far beyond what we ever expected.

Our son absolutely adores her. Every time he knows he's going to see Maloryn, he gets excited. She has spoken to him in Spanish since he was little, and it's amazing to see how much he has learned because of her. More importantly, she has built such a beautiful bond with him that today he sees her as family, like an auntie he loves very much.

What we appreciate most is the genuine love and care she gives him. She is patient, kind, attentive, and always puts his well-being first. As parents, there is nothing more comforting than knowing your child is with someone who truly cares about them. Over these past two years, communication has always been easy, honest, and respectful. We have always trusted her completely, and that trust has only grown with time.

We recommend Maloryn wholeheartedly and without the slightest hesitation. She has been so much more than a caregiver to us,she has become an important part of our family's journey, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have found her. We truly hope she will continue to be part of our son's life as he grows up.

A complete disappointment

Maloryn let us down refusing to look after my children when they were teething and had a raised temperature, yet still demanded to be paid and threatened us with legal action. After she let us down, we gave her her notice. Whilst she was working her notice, she threatened saying she could not provide the same care for my children now that our relationship had diminished. This made it very difficult to trust that she would look out for them and made me not want to have her work, but her contract demanded a month's notice.
On one occasion, Maloryn mocked the appearance of one of the children she is nannying for, commenting rather maliciously about the size of her forehead showing me pictures of other babies she is looking after.

I am very saddened to read this review, as it does not reflect the care, commitment and love I have always had for the children in my care.

I want to clarify that I did not choose to leave this family or stop caring for their children. I cared deeply for these babies, and it genuinely breaks my heart that the working relationship ended in this way.

The situation regarding illness was based on the childcare agreement we both signed. This agreement clearly outlined that care would not be provided when a child has a fever or a contagious illness, and that children should meet the agreed return-to-care requirements before returning, including being fever-free for the required period without medication.

At the time, one of the children had a temperature of 39.4°C, which I measured in front of the parents. The child had also experienced illness symptoms in the days beforehand, and there had been illness within the household. After medication, the temperature reduced but remained around 38°C and above when I continued monitoring.

My decision was based on the information available to me at the time, my professional judgement, the agreement we had in place, and my responsibility to prioritise the child’s wellbeing. This was not a decision taken lightly, and it was not because I did not want to care for the children.

As a nanny, I also have a responsibility towards other families I work with. Families trust me to provide safe care and not unnecessarily expose their children to illness. At the time, I was also meeting and trialling with other families, and I had a responsibility to consider the wellbeing of all children in my care.

I understand that this situation was difficult and upsetting for the parents, and I appreciate that it was a stressful time for everyone involved. However, I do not feel it is fair to suggest that my decision came from a lack of care or commitment towards their children.

I am also very concerned by the suggestion that I made a malicious comment about a child’s appearance. This does not reflect who I am or the way I care for children. The situation referred to was that I was showing the parent a photo of a child I had previously cared for and sharing the hairstyle I had created for her. This was a child I had cared for from a very young age, and I have always spoken about the children I care for with affection and pride. I would never intentionally make a hurtful comment about a child’s appearance.

During the process of ending our working relationship, there were disagreements regarding communication, trust and payment. Any mention of formal steps was only in relation to recovering outstanding payments after uncertainty around agreed payments, and was an attempt to resolve the matter professionally.

I am also saddened by the suggestion that I would not provide the same level of care because of difficulties between adults. I have always taken my responsibility towards children seriously. However, a nanny-family relationship requires mutual respect, trust and professional communication from both sides in order to work well.

Before this situation, I had a positive relationship with this family and I am grateful for the opportunity I had to care for their children. I wish them and their babies nothing but the very best for the future.

For future families reading this, I hope my experience, references and the many children I have cared for over the years demonstrate the dedication, professionalism and genuine care I bring to my work as a nanny.

Best Nanny Ever

I cannot recommend Maloryn highly enough. Maloryn has been absolutely incredible with our daughter, providing not only attentive and reliable care but also genuine warmth and affection every day she is with us. It is clear that she truly loves what she does, and that shows in the way she engages, supports, and nurtures our child.

One of the things we value most about Maloryn is her ability to speak both English and Spanish with our daughter, which has been a wonderful added benefit for her development. Another very special thing is that our daughter always gets excited to see Maloryn every Thursday, which says a lot about the lovely bond and positive dynamic she has created. She creates a safe, happy, and stimulating environment, always going above and beyond to ensure our daughter is well cared for. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her.
