About Me
Hi! I'm Georgina, a registered childminder based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. I'm also a mum of two, so I know just how important it is to find somewhere your little ones feel happy, safe and comfortable while you're at work.
I aim to offer a home-from-home environment where children can be themselves, build confidence, make friendships and, most importantly, enjoy being little!
We're a very busy little setting and love getting out and about. You'll often find us exploring the woods, splashing in streams, visiting farms, museums, parks, libraries and playgroups. I'm a big believer that children learn so much through real-life experiences, and some of our best days are the ones spent outdoors getting muddy, finding bugs or seeing where our adventures take us!
When we're at home, there's always plenty going on too. We enjoy messy play, sensory activities, crafts, baking, stories, imaginative play and lots of opportunities for children to follow their own interests. I plan activities around what the children are enjoying rather than expecting everyone to do the same thing.
I have a degree in Primary Education and before childminding I was a primary schol teacher. I'm passionate about early years development, particularly supporting children's communication, independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing. Every child develops at their own pace, and I believe in giving them the time, encouragement and support they need without putting unnecessary pressure on them.
We're a small setting, which means I really get to know each child as an individual. I love watching their personalities develop, celebrating all their little achievements and building lovely relationships with their families.
I also provide home-cooked meals, regular updates and photos throughout the day, so parents can see what their little ones have been getting up to.
My biggest aim is for children to look forward to coming each morning, feel like part of the family and go home with lots of stories to tell!

My Experience
I have a Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Development and am also a qualified primary school teacher, with a Level 6 qualification.
I'm a mum of two, Theo and Felicity, and have plenty of experience caring for children of different ages. Before becoming a registered childminder, I regularly babysat for local families and also worked as a nanny for key worker families during the Covid pandemic, helping with childcare, daily routines and home learning.
Since becoming a childminder, I've gained lots of experience working with children of different ages, personalities and abilities. I particularly enjoy supporting children's speech and language development, building their confidence and helping them become more independent.
I regularly complete additional training to keep my knowledge up to date and am currently working towards my Level 3 Early Years SENCO qualification. I'm passionate about making sure every child feels included, understood and supported, whatever their individual needs.
Having experience in both teaching and childminding has really helped shape how I run my setting. I believe children learn best when they're happy, comfortable and interested in what they're doing. I love getting out and about, exploring new places and giving children experiences they might not otherwise have.
I try to keep our days varied, with a mixture of outings, activities, messy play, stories and plenty of opportunities for free play. I follow the children's interests as much as possible rather than having a strict plan for every day.
One of my favourite things about childminding is being able to build such close relationships with the children and their families. I love watching the children grow in confidence, develop friendships and achieve things they've been working towards, however big or small.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary school teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Level 6 qualification in education. I also hold a Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Development.
I regularly complete additional training to keep my knowledge and practice up to date, including safeguarding, paediatric first aid and early years development. I am also currently working towards my Level 3 Early Years SENCO qualification to further develop my knowledge of supporting children with additional needs.
My background in teaching, alongside my experience as a registered childminder, gives me a good understanding of children's learning and development from the early years through to primary school.
My Availability
I'm avaliable 47 weeks of the year and a open 8-6 with the option for earlier starts.
I currently don't have availability until September 2027.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
My daily rate is £60, which includes all meals, snacks, drinks, outings and travel expenses. There are no additional charges for our regular activities or days out.
I provide a variety of home-cooked meals and snacks throughout the day, with children's dietary requirements and allergies catered for.
I also offer government-funded childcare hours for eligible families, with no additional top-up fees for funded hours.
