About Me
I am a calm and outgoing person who finds it’s easy to relate to people, both adult and children. I am equally happy at home gardening, reading and chilling as I am being outdoors and exploring the area and going swimming or for a stroll. I love to cook & bake as well as simple knitting and sewing. Some of these hobbies flow into childcare as it’s an enjoyable activity to share with the children from a young age. I also enjoy arts and crafts and sensory activities with the children.
My Experience
I am an OFSTED registered childcarer with 36 years in childcare, both in Day Nurseries and in a family home.
I have worked with children from 3 months up to 14 years old and have experience with families with twins and children very close in age as well as larger gaps. I have also been employed as a nanny/housekeeper so if your need is for a combination role I may also suits your needs.
I’m a very patient and fair child carer and very open to discussion about how you would like me to help raise your children. I very much enjoy the company of children in the home spending time playing, doing art and crafts, & baking as well exploring the outdoors and joining in group activities.

My Availability
As my current/main nanny job is coming to an end I am going to be available every weekday from the end of October for both ad hoc and regular childcare/nanny/housekeeping/babysitting. Karen has been an exceptional Nanny for our children. We have 3 year old twins, a 9 year old and an 11 year old.
She is extremely reliable, professional, and down to earth. My children love her, she is great fun and very proactive with engaging in different activities and games with them, making it both fun and educational. She has helped the twins with all things developmental, including getting them potty trained.
She is a warm friendly character to have around and always makes me laugh. We will be very sad to see her go!

Karen was an exceptional nanny to our twins and our eldest son. At the time, I had three children under the age of three and was finding it difficult to manage everything. Karen joined us two days a week, and those quickly became my favourite days — everything just felt easier and happier when she was here.
She primarily cared for our twin girls, allowing me to spend more one-on-one time with my eldest. The girls absolutely adored her. Karen regularly took them to playgroups, organised engaging activities at home, and prepared their meals — all with warmth, energy, and professionalism.
Her extensive childcare experience was evident in everything she did, but it was her kind, friendly nature that made her feel like a true part of our family. I only wish we could have kept her with us longer, but the twins were due to start nursery alongside their brother later that year.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Karen to any family — she is a wonderful nanny and an even more wonderful person.
