My Experience

My current role is that of a teaching assistant in a primary school, working with children aged four to eleven. I help with their learning, providing guidance in all subjects, and help the children with personal upkeep and any toileting that is required.
In my previous school, I worked with children with special educational needs, providing all-round care and any medicinal requirements. This job has taught me to understand that every child is different, and to become more patient as every child is on a different journey.

Alongside my degree, I worked as an online tutor for MyTutor, providing tuition for children aged six to eighteen. I planned sessions according to the specific requirements of each student, and always aimed to help my students feel heard and seen as many struggled in school. I learned many new skills with organisation and improved my abilities with ICT.

During the seasonal breaks, I have previously worked as a camp leader for the HAF camp. This camp provided children who are on pupil premium with the opportunity to have food and educational entertainment during their breaks from school. As camp leader, I designed fun, interactive sessions for all the children and maintained the safe handling of food and personal care for the children and young adults that attended.

My Qualifications

I am first aid trained, which I have completed within the past three years.
I have completed all safeguarding training that has been required to work with children for my current job within the past three months.
I have had an enhanced DBS check completed within the past six months.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Bath, having completed a BSc Psychology (Hons) degree, and obtained a 2:1.

My Availability

As I am hoping to become an au pair, I would have availability throughout the week. Seasonal breaks would require further discussion with the family.

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
