About Me
Hi there! I'm Tom - a fully qualified primary school teacher and member of our senior leadership team with over 10 years teaching experience. I've taught children with SEN, EAL, behavioural need and varying abilities, across all primary key stages. During the past 7 years, I have been tutoring online and face to face. Most of my teaching has been in Year 6, specialising in getting children ready for the 11+ exams (English, Maths, Verbal & Non Verbal) and SATs papers (Reading, SPaG & Maths).
My Experience
Whilst tutoring online, I have been specifically focusing on bridging gaps in children's learning for Maths and English, as well as preparing for relevant tests (including the 11+ Kent test and Private Secondary School exams/interviews). My aim is to build your child's knowledge and confidence in every test paper, find their specific areas of weakness and help them improve with targeted questioning and challenges - easing the pressure of testing overall. I pride myself on being a motivator, someone who can inspire children to do their best, and plan tutoring lessons specifically to their needs and interests while making learning fun! I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and I look forward to potentially working with your families in the future.
