My Requirements
Job Title: Nanny Housekeeper
Location: Buckingham
Start Date: Mid October
We are a warm and welcoming family seeking a nanny housekeeper to help care for our two young children — a newborn (due in October) and a 2-year-old toddler — while also supporting with household duties. The role requires flexibility, experience with both infants and toddlers, and a proactive, calm presence to help manage a busy home. Dad travels frequently during the week, so support for Mum, particularly during morning and evening routines, is key. Our toddler attends nursery 4 days a week, and support with local drop-offs and pick-ups may be required from time to time.
The current schedule and duties are expected to suit our family’s needs for up to one year, but may evolve as the children grow. We’re ideally looking for someone local who is interested in becoming a valued part of our family and supporting us for the long term. We have a preference for live-out candidates but are open to live-in for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Household Support (alongside Mum):
Support Mum with daily care of a newborn and toddler, including feeding, changing, settling, and play
Assist with newborn care: bottle sterilising, nappy changes, winding, and soothing
Prepare children’s meals (breakfast/light dinners on nursery days; full meals and batch cooking on others)
Support nursery drop-offs/pick-ups if required (all local/walkable)
Plan and supervise age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
Keep children’s areas (bedroom, playroom, bathroom) clean and tidy
Light housekeeping: tidying main living spaces, kitchen upkeep, and general household organisation
Children’s laundry and occasional family laundry and ironing
Cooking support and general meal prep for the household from time to time
Run errands and assist with shopping and household supplies if required
Support care for two outdoor rabbits (feeding and general oversight, as needed)
Help coordinate smooth day-to-day household routines
Typical Schedule
Monday to Friday: Approx. 35–40 hours per week
Morning: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Afternoon/Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Key focus on supporting morning and evening routines, particularly as Dad works away regularly. Flexibility is essential to accommodate changing family needs and routines.
Candidate Requirements
Experience working with newborns and toddlers in a private home setting
Confidence supporting a family with a parent present (shared care environment)
Excellent understanding of child development and age-appropriate care
Able to take initiative, highly organised, and trustworthy
Good level of spoken English; additional languages a bonus
Full driving license desirable but not essential – all amenities are walkable
Up-to-date public liability or nanny insurance (or willingness to obtain)
Enhanced DBS check and verifiable references
Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Salary
£525 per week
(Salary is negotiable for the right candidate, depending on experience and fit)
Accommodation
Family home located in a vibrant local town with a wide range of coffee shops, parks, and child-friendly play areas, all within walking distance.
Live-in accommodation includes a large private bedroom with a private bathroom, offering comfort and privacy within the family home.
If you’re a caring, dependable nanny housekeeper who enjoys being part of family life and supporting a busy household, we’d love to hear from you.
To apply: Please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience, and availability.
