Childminder in Langford (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
My name is Becky and I am a newly Ofsted childminder. I live with my husband, our two young children and our family dog.
During my own search for childcare for my return to work after maternity leave, I found it difficult to secure suitable provision for my children and became aware of a real lack of childcare and wraparound care options within my local area. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in childminding, and I have spent the past year training to become a registered childcare provider.
Although I have not previously worked in a formal childcare setting, I grew up with my own mother being a childminder. This naturally led to me offering childcare support to local families through babysitting and home-help care. My professional career later took me in a different direction, but after having my own children I found my way back to working with children, which is where my true passion lies.
I am highly passionate about providing a safe, fun and nurturing space for children to learn and grow. My aim is to support parents in nurturing their children and to work in partnership with families to help make the work/life balance as smooth and stress-free as possible. As a parent myself, I understand first-hand how challenging being a working parent can be.
I have completed the relevant childcare courses required to submit my OFSTED application and I am committed to continuing my professional development so that I can provide the very best care and learning experiences for the children in my setting.
I am a keen baker and often enjoy spending time in the kitchen with my own children, where we learn through measuring ingredients, following instructions and tidying up afterwards. These everyday moments create fun and meaningful learning experiences.
My home offers a lovely playroom conservatory and a large outdoor garden for children to enjoy. I am also fortunate to live within walking distance of the local school and directly opposite a park, meaning outdoor play and local outings are easily included as part of our day. I am passionate about using Hygge-inspired approaches in my setting. In a busy world, I believe it is important to slow down, allow children time to explore at their own pace and enjoy experiences without rushing. I also feel strongly about supporting children to understand the importance of self-care and emotional wellbeing from a young age. Time outdoors is an essential part of our routine, and a little rain or mud never puts us off.
