About Me
I'm the proud father of two cheeky little boys, Arthur (3) and Bernie (1), who keep us thoroughly entertained and permanently on our toes!
My partner, Liliana, works full-time at the National Gallery, while I'm an actor, writer and producer, mainly working in film and television. As if that weren't enough to keep us busy, we're both studying for our BAs at Birkbeck, University of London, and we also run a business together from home.
We're a creative, curious and slightly unconventional family with a shared love of the arts — in fact, it's what brought us together! We love films, music, television, art, good food and drink, travelling, walking, nature, architecture, reading, games, languages and discovering new people, places and cultures.
We're equally happy exploring somewhere new as we are philosophising in bed together, laughing at something ridiculous or just being wonderfully silly!
Our household also includes two little sweetheart dogs, Lola and Cocoa, and a chameleon named Churkin, who is probably the most sensible member of the family.
We're a loving, creative, quirky and occasionally chaotic little family, hoping to raise two kind, curious and imaginative boys who embrace the world with wonder, humour and a healthy dose of silliness!
My Requirements
We're looking for a lovely, reliable and flexible Ofsted-registered childminder (not a nanny) to help look after our two little boys, Arthur and Bernie!
It's important that you're a registered childminder, as we need to be able to claim childcare support through Student Finance England's Childcare Grant. We're happy to discuss the details together.
Our regular childcare needs are:
- Wednesdays: Collecting the boys from nursery, giving them dinner if needed and looking after them until Mum gets home from work, usually between 7.30 and 8 pm.
- Thursdays: Collecting the boys from nursery and looking after them through the evening, including dinner and potentially bedtime, while we're both at university, until approximately 10 pm.
Between work, studying and family life, our schedules can be a little unpredictable! We'd also love someone who could occasionally help with childcare on other days, evenings and weekends.
Ideally, we'd prefer the boys to be looked after in our home, but we're equally happy for them to attend your registered childminding setting.
A little about our boys: They're growing up bilingual, speaking Portuguese and English, so it would be a lovely bonus to find someone who speaks some Portuguese or Spanish, although this certainly isn't essential.
More importantly, we're looking for someone genuinely caring, patient and enthusiastic about encouraging creativity, imagination and curiosity through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, music, outdoor adventures and everyday discoveries.
We're a friendly, busy family, usually juggling seventeen things at once (and occasionally a toddler in each arm!), so someone warm, trustworthy, communicative and adaptable would be wonderful.
Above all, we'd love someone the boys can build a happy, trusting relationship with — and who might even enjoy being part of our slightly chaotic little world!
