About Me
Hi my name is Nicola.
I am a registered childminder living in the Roath Park area of Cardiff.

I provide a safe and stimulating environment for boys and girls between the ages of 0-12 years. I have been registered since 2000.
I am married and the mother of two young men who are in university .
I am willing to collect children from a variety of local nurseries. During a typical day I might take the children to a playgroup/toddler group or to the park, depending on the weather and circumstances. When there are school holidays i often take the children on other trips such as the beach/museum/castle etc.
Both myself, husband and sons have been policed checked. (DBS) We are also registered on the yearly subscription for enhanced DBS checks.
My Experience
As a mother myself i have a lot of experience with children.
I have cared for many children over the years from tiny babies to teenagers. some of whom are still with me.
I also believe I build strong relationships with the parents to ensure the child's well-being is protected for example if they are vegan or need to take any medication.
I positively value and respect children of all ethnic origins/racial groups, religions, cultures, linguistic backgrounds, gender and abilities.
My Qualifications
I have attended a certificated paediatric first aid course. I have also attended a child protection course and fundamentals of food hygiene course.
Plus many more. I intend to undertake other courses when available that will be both beneficial to me and the children I mind.
I follow the ‘Foundation Phase in Learning’ to support babies and children’s development and to ensure they get the best start possible ready for their journey.
I am regularly inspected by the CIW and a member of Morton and Michel
All my family members hold a current full Criminal Records Bureau Certificate/DBS. I have a Paediatric First Aid Certificate and have attended numerous childcare courses. I can offer quality affordable childcare in a happy, fun, caring, safe environment for children of all ages.
A home from home environment.
My setting is child friendly, it has been assessed by the CIW. I regularly carry out risk assessments and fire safety checks.

Spaces available during the day full and part time spaces available plus before and after school..
I have good inspection reports and references. which are available to read at my home. We are a really fun loving family who welcome children into a safe,home-like place whilst their parents are at work.
I can offer fun filled days of activities and outings. I have space for outdoor play and a large range of toys for all ages.
I am also available to care for children during school holidays and inset days

I am available between the hours of 7:45am until 5:30pm - Monday to Friday.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
£45 full day
School drop offs and pick ups minimum of 2 hours after school & 1 hr before charged @ £5 per hour including breakfast and healthy snacks after school £12.50.

We put our daughter with Nicola when she was about 18 months old. At the time, she was very shy and really struggled with new people. Nicola was kind and patient with her, helped her to adjust to the outside world and make friends with a wide range of adults and children. She is now four and very confident and enthusiastic having had such a positive experience. With over 20 years' experience, Nicola has always been able to advise me when it has come to challenges and milestones and she always makes time for clear communication both through daily chats, emails and on the phone. She has been an extra part of our family in these last few years and under her care, our daughter has thrived.
Overall
Nic is amazing, my daughter was with her for three years. She offers a loving safe home atmosphere. She takes them out to the park and has lots of activities going on for the children to enjoy during term time and puts together days out for the children in the holidays. My daughter had separation issues when she first went to school, Nic helped her to settle and helped me through the worrying time by keeping me informed and just showing my daughter love and understanding. We recently have relocated and my daughter always talks about Nic and is desperate to go visit her. I highly recommend Nic.

Nicola has cared for both of my children over the past 6 years. She is very accommodating and my son and daughter adore her.
My son has medical needs and Nicola is aware of these and liaises with me regularly.
Nicola is a regular at local soft plays and toddler groups but also has a lovely home where my children are happy safe and enjoy playing.
I would thoroughly recommend Nicola to any parent.

Childminder is absolutely excellent, my son has been looked after Nicola for a couple of years now and has always enjoyed his time and sometimes doesn't want to come home. They are always out an about if the weather is good after school and during the holidays he has a fabulous time at the beach, or the water park, Penarth, Barry and many other places.They join up with other childminders and children so it is a lovely outing. All I have to do is give him a bath, food and tuck him into bed as he has had such a good day. Thoroughly recommended.
