I am a qualified teacher and experienced nanny in Edinburgh.
I offer a calm, warm and highly engaged approach, combining teacher training with a play-based, child-centred philosophy. I build trusting relationships quickly and support children’s development through conversation, creativity, outdoor adventure, and following their natural interests. Emotional security, curiosity, and confidence-building is important to me.
My professional background spans secondary education, tutoring, university administration, and creative work. This gives me excellent organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to support both discovery & development and the practical rhythms of family life. I am confident working across age groups, supporting routines, behaviour boundaries, school readiness, homework, in an encouraging and developmentally appropriate way.
I am also a confident cook and enjoy preparing meals, involving children to encourage independence and a positive relationship with food. Also baking is fun!

Stephie has been looking after my two boys aged 1 and 4 weekly for the past few months. She has been consistently reliable and my boys adore her. She thinks of fun and engaging activities for them to enjoy and is kind, patient and caring with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any other families needing extra help.
