About Me – My Childminding Journey
I have been a childminder for 20 years, and I absolutely love what I do. I feel very lucky to have a job that allows me to watch children grow, learn and develop, while creating lots of happy memories along the way.
I live in the beautiful village of Selborne, surrounded by fields and lovely places to explore. Having the countryside and a play area so close to my home gives the children plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, explore nature and learn about the world around them. I enjoy providing experiences for children of all ages, making sure that activities are suitable, enjoyable and challenging for each individual child.
Family is very important to me. I have two children of my own and a grandchild, as well as my wonderful husband. We also have a dog and two rabbits at home, and we are lucky enough to have a horse too! The children enjoy being around our animals and learning how to care for and respect them.
I particularly love arts and crafts, and I enjoy getting creative with the children. I believe children learn so much through hands-on experiences, messy play and being given the freedom to explore their own ideas.
I also love being outside, whether we are exploring the fields, looking for bugs, collecting natural treasures, watching the seasons change or simply enjoying fresh air and exercise. I believe that children should have plenty of opportunities to explore, investigate and discover the world around them.
After 20 years of childminding, I still feel passionate about learning new things myself. I enjoy developing my knowledge and finding new activities and experiences to share with the children. Every child is different, and I love getting to know their individual personalities, interests and ways of learning.
My aim is to provide a warm, happy and safe home-from-home environment where children feel valued, confident and encouraged to be themselves.
