Childminder in Doncaster
My Summary
Wellies And Wildflowers Childminding- Ofsted Strong In All Areas
About Me
I offer a warm, home-from-home childminding setting where children learn through play, exploration and real-life experiences. We spend much of our time outdoors, visiting our allotment, local parks, woodlands and community spaces, helping children develop confidence, independence and a lifelong love of nature.
Our days are enriched by being part of the local community. We regularly meet with other childminders, attend local groups and activities, and take part in community projects, giving children opportunities to build friendships, develop social skills and feel a real sense of belonging. At our allotment, children help to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, care for the environment, and experience the journey from seed to plate.
Learning is child-led and inspired by children’s interests, with plenty of opportunities for gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, messy play, stories, science investigations and imaginative play. Healthy eating, kindness, inclusion and strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
I work closely with families to provide high-quality care where every child feels safe, valued and supported to thrive. I am Ofsted rated “Strong in all areas”, and provide a nurturing environment where childhood is celebrated, curiosity is encouraged and children are supported to flourish.
My Experience
My experience in childcare includes work placements in both schools and nurseries, supporting established childminders, and working as a nanny before becoming a registered childminder. I am also a parent, which has further developed my understanding of children’s individual needs and development.
Alongside my childcare experience, I have worked in a variety of other roles, including fashion and training as a chef. These experiences have helped me develop creativity, organisation and adaptability, while also inspiring my passion for growing, cooking and sharing healthy food with children. This naturally forms part of our everyday learning through gardening, harvesting, preparing meals and exploring where food comes from.
I am passionate about creating meaningful learning opportunities through real-life experiences, outdoor exploration and community involvement. I regularly work alongside other childminders and local groups to give children a rich variety of social and educational experiences while maintaining the benefits of a small, nurturing home-based setting.
My Qualifications
I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality care and education for the children I look after.
My qualifications and training include:
• CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education
• Degree in Psychology, with a particular focus on Educational Psychology
• Paediatric First Aid (current)
• Level 2 Food Hygiene
• Safeguarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
I believe learning never stops, so I regularly attend 1–2 professional training courses each month to ensure my practice remains current and reflects the needs of the children in my care. Recent areas of professional development have included attachment theory, toilet learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing, communication and language, neurodiversity, and many other aspects of child development.
Prior to becoming a childminder, I worked for the National Autistic Society, where I completed a range of specialist training relating to autism and supporting people with additional needs. This experience continues to influence my inclusive, child-centred approach to caring for every child as an individual.

My little boy has only been attending for a few months after school he absolutely loves going and looks forward to going every week, he goes twice a week which he gets collected from school and he has said many times he would love to go more days but unfortunately the availability isn’t there. He loves the combined learning with play, she organises after school activities at different places when available. My little boy couldn’t sing her praises anymore than he does the excitement just bursts out of him when he knows she is picking him up from school
