Babysitter in Whitley Bay
My Summary
About Me
I’m a friendly, enthusiastic and creative person who loves spending time with children. I’ve been looking after friends’ children for around 4 years and really enjoy creating fun, engaging activities for them.
I currently work as a qualified lifeguard, so I’m responsible, confident and safety-conscious. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and dog, playing games, getting creative with arts and crafts and baking.
I’m patient, caring and always keen to make sure children feel happy, comfortable and entertained while in my care.
My Experience
I have a wide range of experience working with children in different settings and with different age groups. I worked as a swim teacher for around a year, teaching children aged 3–4, which helped me develop my patience, communication and ability to keep children engaged while ensuring their safety.
I have also worked in two nurseries with children aged 3–4, as well as babysitting family and friends’ children over the years.
In summer 2025, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to America and work as a camp counsellor for around 7 weeks. Alongside two other counsellors, I was responsible for a group of 10-year-old girls for the duration of their stay. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had and gave me lots of valuable experience in caring for, entertaining and supporting children away from home.
I returned to the same camp again in 2026, working with the same age group. I really enjoyed returning and building on the experience I gained the previous summer.
I really enjoy working with children and love creating a fun, safe and positive environment where they feel comfortable and enjoy themselves.
My Qualifications
I’m a qualified lifeguard, which I gained in 2023. As part of my lifeguard qualification, I hold a First Aid certificate and complete monthly training to keep my skills and knowledge up to date.
I also have a Level 1 Swim Teacher qualification, which I gained in 2022, as well as a Safeguarding certificate completed in 2024.
For my work at summer camp, I completed an Enhanced DBS check in 2024 and a police check in 2026.
I also studied Child Development as part of my GCSEs, achieving a Merit, which gave me a good understanding of children’s development and needs.
My Availability
I’m currently working as a lifeguard on a casual contract, so I have some flexibility with my availability. I’m currently looking for babysitting and part-time childcare work in Whitley Bay and the surrounding areas.
I’m available for before and after-school childcare, as well as Saturday mornings and occasional weekend work. I’m happy to discuss different arrangements and work around each family’s individual needs where possible.
