My Requirements

I am looking for a babysitter to support our family. I have two boys, aged 6 and 3.

My eldest son is autistic and has an EHCP. He is a lovely, happy little boy, but he does need someone who is patient, calm and ideally experienced in supporting children with additional needs. Experience with autism or SEND would be a real advantage.

I’m a teacher, so I’m mainly looking for childcare on an ad hoc basis. This might include occasional evenings, school INSET days (which often coincide with my sons’ days off), or other times when family are unavailable to help.

I’m also looking for someone who may be available for regular morning support during term time. This would involve arriving at my home at around 7:20am and staying with my eldest son until his school transport arrives (currently expected between approximately 8:15am and 8:45am), then handing him over to the transport escort. If this is something you could offer, I’d love to hear from you, but it isn’t essential.

Childcare would usually take place in our home in Torquay. I’m looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and kind, and who can build a positive relationship with my boys. They’re both affectionate, funny and full of personality, and I’d love to find someone who will become a trusted part of our support network.
