My Requirements

I’m looking for a caring, reliable and flexible person to provide ad-hoc childcare for my bright and energetic 10-year-old son, who is autistic with ADHD and a PDA profile.

I’m hoping to find someone he can get to know and feel comfortable with, who is calm, patient and able to adapt to his individual needs.

Typical cover may include:

- Alternate weekends, usually around 10am–5pm
- Occasional weekday evenings
- Occasional overnight stays
- Some school holiday cover, e.g. half-term, Easter and Christmas

This is an ad-hoc role, so hours will be arranged as and when childcare is needed rather than being guaranteed each week.

Ideally, you will:

- Have experience with autistic/neurodivergent children, or a good understanding and willingness to learn
- Be patient, dependable and comfortable encouraging independence and play
- Have your own transport/car and be comfortable taking him out for activities
