My Summary

My Experience

I have experience of bringing up my own three children and together with a friend started a successful new mum and baby support group in Hamilton called “Hey Mama!”.
I enjoy spending time with children and aim to provide a safe, relaxed and fun atmosphere where children are happy and content, and where parents feel confident leaving their children.
I enjoy outdoor play and take children outside as often as possible accessing local community spaces and amenities, along with various toddler groups and bookbug classes.
I also provide many indoor activities including arts and crafts, storytelling and a variety of toys. Children will be encouraged to respect all other children with whom they come into contact.
Each child will be treated equally regardless of gender, race, religious beliefs or cultural background. I will respect any family/religious traditions. Children will be free to play with whichever toys/dressing up clothes they choose. They will be encouraged to help with basic kitchen tasks and cleaning and will be taught that these are basic life skills and not gender roles. Books available and stories told will contain many different types of people, families and cultures.

My Qualifications

I am a member of the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) and I also hold a valid Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate. I have been checked as part of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and my husband holds an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate. Anyone over the age of 16 who lives in my home must hold an Enhanced Disclosure. My business is registered and inspected by the Care Inspectorate, details of which are published on their website.
I hold a registration certificate and I comply with all aspects of my registration including working within my registered numbers.
I have Public Liability Insurance and car insurance appropriate to my business.
