Looking for a nurturing, enriching home-from-home for your child?

Hi, I’m Anna – a qualified and experienced childminder based in a prime Stevenage location, just a short walk from the Old Town, Town Centre, and Train Station – ideal for busy families needing a convenient location.

I offer a warm, calm, and stimulating home environment where children are welcomed as part of the family. My cosy, non-smoking home is shared with my husband, our two sons (aged 11 and 15), and our friendly Jack Russell dog, Lucas, who is fully vaccinated, well supervised, and used to being around children.

With a background in education and psychology, as well as experience in schools and the NHS, I bring a strong understanding of children’s development and individual needs. As a mum myself, I understand how important it is to feel confident and reassured in your childcare choice.

What your child can expect:

• A rich mix of learning through play – including crafts, sensory activities, stories, and educational toys
• Daily outings to parks, libraries, and playgroups, supporting social skills and exploration
• A language-rich environment (English, Polish, and Spanish)
• A consistent, structured routine that supports emotional security and confidence
• A calm, low-ratio setting where each child receives individual attention

A typical day includes free play, a snack, a planned activity and/or outdoor time, a home-cooked lunch, nap time, and relaxed afternoon play with a snack.

Meals & care:

I provide balanced, home-cooked meals (e.g. pasta with vegetables, chicken and rice) along with healthy snacks such as fruit, yoghurt, toast, eggs, and vegetable sticks. Drinks include water or full-fat milk.
I do not provide sweets, crisps, or fizzy drinks.

Practical information:

• £8.00 per hour (includes all meals and snacks)
• Minimum booking: 6 hours per day
• Open Monday to Friday
• 30 hours government funding accepted (from 9 months+)

WHAT TO BRING
To ensure your child’s comfort, parents provide:

Special milk, formula, or dietary-specific foods
Baby food if your child is weaning
Nappies, wipes, and any required creams
Sun cream
Two full changes of clothes (including socks and underwear)
Weather-appropriate outerwear and footwear
Comfort items (e.g. blanket, dummy, or teddy)

COMMUNICATION & SETTLING IN
Daily communication via WhatsApp or email
I am always happy to chat at collection times if you arrive a few minutes before collection time
All policies are provided in writing for review


A few key policies:
• Children must stay home for 48 hours after sickness (vomiting/diarrhoea) or if too unwell to participate comfortably
• Absences (including holidays) are chargeable
• My own holidays are shared in advance and are not charged
• Care is provided from my home only (no school runs)

I am Ofsted registered, DBS-checked, and trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and food hygiene. I follow EYFS guidance to ensure a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
