My name is Leanne and I am the owner of Leanne’s Childminding, based in Orton Goldhay. I am a mum to two children aged 9 and 14, which I feel is the best experience I could have when caring for children. Having used childminders myself in the past, I understand what parents look for and expect when entrusting someone with their children.
I live with my partner, who works from home upstairs, allowing my childminding setting full use of the downstairs area. He is fully DBS checked. We are also a pet-friendly home with two small, friendly house cats who are used to children.
I am fully DBS checked and paediatric first aid qualified. My home is warm, welcoming, and set up to support children’s learning and development. The living room is divided to create a safe, child-focused play space, alongside a large kitchen/diner for messy play, baking, and creative activities. We also have a well-sized back garden which is used daily for outdoor learning and play.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children across all seven areas of learning through play-based, child-led activities. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, secure, and valued, and activities are planned around each child’s individual interests and developmental needs.
Our days follow a gentle routine to help children feel settled and confident, including free play, stories and songs, outdoor activities, creative and messy play, shared mealtimes, and quiet rest periods. Routines remain flexible to suit each child’s needs and stage of development.
My aim is to provide a nurturing, fun, and stimulating environment where children can grow in confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
My Experience
I have experience caring for children of all ages, including newborns. I provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel secure, supported, and able to learn and thrive.
We enjoy regular walks and outings, including trips to the local library for rhyme time and story time, visits to soft play, and walks to Ferry Meadows. I plan a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities that support children’s development through play, routine, and exploration.
I keep up to date with relevant training and webinars to ensure my knowledge is current and that I can provide you and your child with the highest standard of care and a positive learning environment.
I believe that having my own children gives me a strong understanding of what children need to learn, grow, and develop, helping each child become the best version of themselves.

Leanne is an outstanding childminder and I couldn’t be happier with the care my son receives. My son is 18 months old and was born 4 months premature with some complications, so choosing the right childcare was extremely important to us. Leanne has exceeded all expectations.
Having been a primary teacher and now a college tutor myself, I strongly believe in young children learning the foundations of words, sounds, numbers, and letters while learning through play. I support this at home through phonics work, and Leanne keeps in close communication so she can mirror the same songs, games, and learning activities, providing excellent consistency.
Leanne follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which was important for me whilst creating a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where children can learn. My son is reaching all of his milestones regardless of his hard start in life, and the support he receives has been fantastic.
Leanne regularly sends photos and videos, my son is always happy at drop-off and pick-up, and she is flexible and accommodating with working patterns and schedules. She ensures he is well cared for with food, snacks, comfort, and sleep, and regularly takes him out to places such as soft play centres.
I would highly recommend Leanne to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy childminder.

My son love it going to Leanne because he was having fun, doing daily activities and learning new songs, playing with her children in the morning when I was dropping him, going out to the paygrounds, chasing her cats on daily basis,going to soft plays and many more.
She is loving calm and nice childminder to leave your child with. I will recommend Leanne always to anyone who needed her settings.
I saw big improvements on my son with the time after he start to go with Leanne
