About Me
I have been childminder for nearly a year now and am the owner of Michala’s Mini Munchkins. I have a genuine passion and love for working with children. My home provides a safe, warm, homely and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and have fun. A home from home. I love to be outside and have a beautiful garden which is a 5 minute walk from the grand western canal. Recently we have built a cabin in the garden as a playroom for the children and we free flow between here and the garden daily. I attend local toddler groups, and we go on many trips whether that be to the library, museum, beach or a day out to Wildwood Devon, I believe these days are learning opportunities for the children and these are all included in my fees. I run a happy and relaxed environment and the children become part of my family whilst covering the 7 areas of learning and EYFS. I have been happily married for 21 years and have 3 grown up children.
My Experience
I have over 20+ years of experience of working in primary schools in all key stages and spent a year working within a local nursery before I decided to set up my own childminding business and I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I am a mum to 3 grown children, step mum and a grandmother to 2 adorable grandchildren so have always spent my time with children and find spending time with them highly rewarding.
My Qualifications
I have recently completed a preparing to be a childminder course. Hold a valid safeguarding certificate, Paediatric first aid certificate and Food hygiene certificate. I have attended short courses and have over 20 years experience.
