About Me
I am Emma and I work alongside my co-childminder, Hayley, at Mini Explorers Strensall.
At Mini Explorers Childcare Strensall, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore and learn. We believe in fostering creativity and curiosity through engaging activities and exciting outings that promote early development.
I am a qualified teacher and completed my degree in Primary Education (3-7). I have been working as a childminder since September 2024 and before caring for children in our home from home setting, I completed school placements in nursery, reception and year one and have worked as a supply teacher across various York schools and early years settings. I have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and development matters.
We both have a passion for childcare and education and have gained valuable experience throughout the years. We provide a loving, nurturing environment and are passionate about working with young children to promote independence, support their personal, social and emotional development and encourage a life-long love of learning through our exciting and engaging curriculum that allows children to learn through exploration.
My Experience
I have been working as a childminder since September 2024, caring for children from as young as 9 months up to school age.
I am a qualified teacher specialising in early years and KS1, before childminding I worked as a supply teacher across a range of primary schools and nurseries in York.
I also have experience working with children with additional needs.
I am passionate about providing a nurturing environment where children can learn through play and exploration.

My Availability
We are open 7:30-5:30 Monday to Thursday.
Due to a couple of children moving on to school and pre-school, I have a small number of full day spaces available for a child 0-2, including availability for a child under 12 months.
Minimum of 2 days per week.
Open all year round, including school holidays. We take around 5 weeks of holiday per year. I give as much notice as possible for holidays to allow families plenty of opportunity to make alternative childcare arrangements.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
- Government funding is accepted for children 9 months to 4 years
- Small consumable charge for meals and outings for funded hours
- Tax-free childcare accepted
- Additonal hours are £6.50 ph, paid hours include meals, snacks and outings
- Offer stretched funding for children attending 2 days
